Meet the Team here at Ashbrook:

ALEX SCOTT BVMS MRCVS

It is hard to believe that I graduated from the Royal Dick Veterinary School 33 years ago. Bright eyed and bushy tailed I headed out into a small mixed practice in Ayrshire to learn my trade as a practising vet. Eighteen months later my young family and I moved south to Cheshire where took up a position as a farm vet in Carter and Partners. Carter and Partners evolved into The Willows Veterinary Group and I changed direction to specialise in equine practice and build 'The Ashbrook Equine Hospital'.

Experience, new skills and advances in technology are the strengths I use when treating my equine patients. I enjoy all aspects of equine practice. However, diagnosing and treating the lame horse is what I enjoy the most. I feel lucky that time has not soured my enthusiasm. I love my job and Monday is always a good day.

ROGER DIXON BVMS MRCVS
Roger Dixon qualified from Edinburgh University in 1999. He spent 4 years in a busy mixed practice in Lancashire, ultimately undertaking the majority of the equine work within the practice. In 2003 he migrated to Perth, Australia to spend a stud season working with one of Western Australia’s leading stud vets.

Roger joined Ashbrook upon his return to the UK in 2004 and has overall responsibility for the Fertility Services. During the breeding season, Roger is kept very busy running the artificial insemination programme at Ashbrook and is usually found at the back of the mare examination stocks! Roger became a Partner at Ashbrook in 2009 and enjoys mountain walking, sailing and spending time with his young (and growing!) family.

KERRY COMB BVMS CertEP MRCVS
Kerry graduated from Glasgow University in 1998 and worked in mixed practice before following her true interest into equine work. Kerry obtained her RCVS Certificate in Equine Practice in 2005.

Kerry’s main work interests are surgery and lameness, enjoying her work in the hospital. Her main outside interest is riding, which has continued since childhood. She was a keen Eventer but has found motherhood now leaves her short of time! Her daughter Zara is growing up fast and is a full time hobby combined with the dog ‘Bud’ who enjoys long walks; especially when he runs off!

JULIA SHRUBB MA VetMB MRCVS
Julia qualified from Cambridge Vet School in 2007 and then stayed on to work there in the equine referral hospital and first opinion practice. She joined Ashbrook in March 2009 and enjoys all aspects of Equine Practice from lameness to geriatric medicine.

Julia got her first pony aged 5 years and was an active Pony Club member until starting her veterinary training. In her spare time, Julia can often be found cycling her mountain bike up and down hills, the steeper the better!
