At Ashbrook we are pleased to offer a range of fertility services including

• Artificial Insemination (AI) using fresh or frozen semen

• Testing of Mares and stallions for infectious diseases (EVA & CEM)

Pregnancy diagnosis is available at the clinic from 14 days using ultrasound scanning. All inclusive AI packages are available at the hospital including full livery and 24 hour nursing.

Our First Foal of 2008

Meet our first foal born in the New Year! This sports horse foal was born in the field, and was unable to stand and suckle the mare. Admitted to Ashbrook for emergency treatment, the foal was given a plasma transfusion to provide her with antibodies. She was also fed colostrum via a naso-oesophageal feeding tube for 24 hours.

After intense overnight nursing, the next day the foal was able to support her own weight. On the third day after admission she could stand on her own, and you can see here that on the fourth day she and mum are doing well with Roger!
